Fantastic news about the elections in India-- hopefully we can follow their lead and vote out our own fundamentalist, hate & violence-mongering government here in the US this coming fall. Other news isn't so good-- L didn't get that job in Albany & yesterday our car in South Bend got broken into & lots of stuff stolen (CD player, cds etc-- my fault for leaving them in there!) Going to Albany to check out our new town last weekend was wierd, kinda like having an arranged marriage that you agreed to without really knowing that much about the person and then visiting them, in an "oh so this is what I got myself into" sense. I have mixed feelings about the school (probably exacerbated by their rejection of L in a position she'd be great for) but Albany itself looks to be an interesting place of possibility-- check out these cool, Albany-based things: The Alternatives to Marriage Project & The Albany Free School. |
