Here's L's description of the social work visit-- captures it perfectly I think: What not to do on your post-placement visit... 1. show up late. 2. walk into the blind spot of a bus with your partner and child because you showed up late and were jaywalking. plus the bus looked like it was parked, honest it did! 3. get yelled at by the busdriver because you walked, with your partner and infant, into his blind spot because you were late and jaywalking 4. have your lambasting by the busdriver for practically getting yourself, your partner, and your baby daughter killed be observed by the social worker because she was standing out on her porch looking for you because you were late oops. eek. Luckily Maddie saved the situation by being her winning smiley self, charming the social worker, and convincing her that she was a happy healthy and well fed almost-one-year-old, adored by her two generally-more-on-top-of-it moms. whew. note to self: show up day early for court date and pitch tent in nearby park. |
