Just got word from my friend in NY that he is okay (but bruised and sore and angry-- 5 cops attacked him, kicked him in the ribs, and smashed his glasses into his face) after the police raided the anarchist people of color fundraising party (21 squad cars for only about 100 people at the peaceful party) he and others were throwing to raise money, among other things, to help cover expenses for people that are going to Miami for the big FTAA protests (where Em will be, representing us CAPGASers!) It looks like they cops in NYC are starting early to try to intimidate people in preparation for next summer's republican convention in NYC. |
