L & I and our downstairs neighbor Astrid went to the South Bend anti-war march today. It was incredibly tame and contained—the march went from one church to another church, we stayed on the sidewalk, and we waited for lights to turn green. I felt resignation and a deep tiredness seep into me (maybe these were symptoms of hypothermia though—it was about –10 degrees out, f’in cold!!). After that, it was great to get on the computer and see Jack's blog and feel the reality-check anger and urgency come coursing back into my veins. How did things go at marches/rallies elsewhere?? |
